About This A1–A2 Food Waste ESL Lesson
Bread, vegetables, leftovers and other food are thrown away every day. A small amount in one home may not look important, but food waste becomes a much bigger problem when the same thing happens in millions of homes.
This free A1–A2 Food Waste ESL lesson helps beginner and elementary learners talk about food they waste, why food spoils and what people can do differently. Students also consider the roles of shops, restaurants and families.
The lesson includes a short reading and audio, five vocabulary items, true-or-false comprehension, discussion, a fridge-based critical-thinking activity, a speaking challenge and a 60–100 word opinion-writing task.
