ABOUT THIS LESSON
About This Beginner Birth Rate ESL Lesson
Schools are becoming quieter, some maternity rooms are empty, and fewer babies are being born in many countries. There is no single reason why.
This A1–A2 lesson uses accessible English to explore falling birth rates, expensive housing, childcare, changing family choices and population decline. Students consider why fewer people are having children and what this could mean for schools, jobs and society.
Students compare five government offers, decide which could really change a young couple's decision, and then choose and defend one policy for the whole country.
