About This Longevity ESL Lesson
Scientists are studying aging itself as a process that might one day be slowed. The aim is not simply to extend lifespan, but to give people more healthy years and delay diseases associated with old age.
This B1–B2 lesson explores the benefits and consequences of longer lives. Students consider access to expensive treatments, pressure on housing and pensions, retirement and the ethical question of whether an ending helps give life meaning.
Students explore what thirty extra years could mean for work, family and relationships before acting as government health advisers and deciding which treatment deserves funding.
