ABOUT THIS LESSON
About This Beginner Cashless Society ESL Lesson
More people now pay with a card or phone instead of coins and notes. This A1–A2 lesson introduces students to the changing way we pay and asks whether a world without cash would really be better.
Students read about the speed and convenience of card payments while considering simple problems involving privacy, people without bank accounts and what happens when the power goes off.
Students rank five customers affected by a cashless café, choose a payment rule of their own, and finish by deciding whether shops should be allowed to refuse cash.
