ABOUT THIS LESSON
About This UK ESL Lesson
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are four countries inside the United Kingdom. This beginner-level lesson helps students understand the difference between England, Great Britain and the UK.
Students read and listen to an accessible article about famous places, Welsh language, football teams and what it means to belong. They practice five useful words and answer five true-or-false questions.
In groups, students choose four features that make a country, test their rules against the four UK countries, plan a three-day tourist trip and write a guided 60–100 word opinion.
