ABOUT THIS LESSON
About This Harry Potter ESL Lesson
The Sorting Hat puts Hogwarts students into four houses. It looks at character, but Harry also shows that personal choice can matter.
This A1–A2 Harry Potter ESL lesson uses clear language to help beginner learners talk about being brave, curious and loyal, and about where they feel they belong. Students consider whether one group can describe a whole person.
The lesson combines a short original reading and audio with beginner vocabulary, true-or-false comprehension, discussion, a simple sorting activity, speaking practice and guided writing.
