About This Longevity ESL Lesson
Scientists have long searched for ways to help people live longer, healthier lives. Today, new discoveries in ageing research are changing how we think about growing older and the limits of the human lifespan.
This B1–B2 longevity ESL lesson explores healthy ageing, life extension and the possibility that science could one day slow the ageing process. Students consider not only whether humans could live much longer, but whether we should.
The lesson combines an original reading and audio with vocabulary, comprehension, discussion questions and critical-thinking activities. Students use English to debate the benefits and consequences of longer lives and consider how advances in longevity research could change society.
